Kebbi Hisbah arrests 25 in Argungu hotel raid over alleged immorality

The Kebbi State Hisbah Board has arrested 25 people during a raid at a hotel in Argungu town over allegations of immoral conduct.

According to a statement by the Board’s Media Team on Friday, July 3, 2026, the operation led to the arrest of 12 males and 13 females suspected of engaging in “badala” – immoral acts.

The Board said the raid was part of its ongoing campaign to curb immoral behavior and to promote peace and moral standards across Kebbi State.

“The raid was conducted as part of the Hisbah Board’s efforts to continue the fight against immoral behavior and to ensure peace and good morals throughout Kebbi State,” the statement read.

The Hisbah Board added that a lawful investigation would be carried out to ascertain the facts of the case. It warned that anyone found culpable would face the appropriate legal action stipulated by law.

The arrests add to recent enforcement activities by Hisbah operatives in Kebbi aimed at enforcing public morality and social order in the state.
