The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded the new logo of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on its official website following a court order directing the commission to recognise the party’s modified design.
The development also saw INEC update the leadership structure of the NDC on its website.
Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe is now listed as the party’s National Chairman, while Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu appears as National Secretary.
John Odey is listed as National Treasurer, with Mainasara Abubakar Sani named National Financial Secretary. Reuben Egwuaba is also listed as the party’s National Legal Adviser.
INEC marked all five leadership positions as having been updated “by court order”, indicating that the changes were made in compliance with the ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The update follows a judgment delivered by Justice J. O. Abdulmalik in a suit filed by the NDC against INEC over the recognition of its modified logo and colour design.
The case, filed as FHC/ABJ/CS/1814/2026, arose from the party’s disagreement with the electoral commission over its refusal to recognise and upload the logo adopted after the NDC’s first National Executive Committee meeting.
The NDC had approached the court seeking an order compelling INEC to recognise the modified logo and update its records accordingly.
Justice Abdulmalik, in the judgment delivered on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, ruled in favour of the political party.
The court held that INEC’s refusal to recognise the modified logo was unconstitutional and illegal, describing the action as an infringement of the rights of the NDC.
Following the judgment, the electoral commission has now reflected the NDC’s modified logo on its official platform.

The latest update is expected to settle the immediate dispute between the party and INEC over the logo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development also gives the NDC and its candidates a recognised party identity to use in campaign and other election-related materials as preparations for the 2027 polls intensify.
