A bride-to-be has gone viral after jokingly listing the requirements her friends must meet if they want to remain close to her after her wedding.
In a video recorded during her bridal shower and shared on X (formerly Twitter), the excited woman told her friends that their friendship would now come with a few conditions as she prepares to begin married life.
According to her, anyone who wishes to remain in her circle must already be in a serious relationship and making visible progress toward marriage.
“If you want to continue being my friend, I have requirements. Firstly, you must be in a relationship. Secondly, the relationship must be more than two years. Thirdly, you must have met your partner’s parents. Fourthly, a proposal must be in sight,” she said.
The bride-to-be explained that she hoped her closest friends would experience the same milestones around the same time, allowing them to navigate marriage and family life together.
She further added that her final condition was for them to be ready to have children next year so their kids could grow up together.
“Lastly, you must be ready to give birth next year so when I have my kids, they will have someone to play with. So please, if you know you’re single, no hope…” she added.
The remarks quickly went viral on social media, with some users describing her speech as offensive, while others argued that everyone is entitled to set the kind of circle they want around them after marriage.
The video has continued to generate reactions online, with many people sharing their thoughts on friendship, relationships and the humorous expectations that sometimes come with weddings.
