ICPC tracks 29 constituency projects worth over N2bn in Bauchi

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has tracked 29 constituency projects valued at N2,062,155,613.98 in Bauchi.

The exercise is part of the ICPC’s efforts to ensure that government-funded constituency projects are executed in line with their Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and deliver value for money.

The tracking exercise, which commenced on August 17, 2026, is being carried out by the Commission’s Constituency Projects Tracking Group (CPTG), comprising personnel from its headquarters in Abuja and Bauchi.

Speaking on the exercise, the Team Leader, Assistant Chief Superintendent (ACS) Mohammed Abdullahi Tanko, said the Commission remained committed to monitoring the execution, implementation and performance of government-funded constituency projects across the country.

Tanko said the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, had directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as members of the National Assembly and the executive, to ensure that funds allocated for government and constituency projects corresponded with actual work executed at project sites.

He explained that the exercise was aimed at reducing the diversion of contract funds and preventing the abandonment of projects awarded with public resources.

According to him, the Commission would continue to deploy technology, including digital tracking and forensic tools, while collaborating with relevant stakeholders to monitor and audit public infrastructure nationwide.

Tanko urged affected MDAs and members of the National Assembly whose constituency projects had been abandoned to mobilise their contractors back to site.

He added that the Commission would not relent in using available technology to track projects, ensure their completion and sanction individuals found culpable of wrongdoing.
