A man has shared his account of surviving an acid attack, claiming the incident occurred shortly after he spoke publicly about his Christian faith and personal conversion experience.
According to his testimony, he had been speaking at a church gathering where he shared his salvation story and preached to attendees.
He said the event drew a large response, with many people making faith commitments during the programme.
The man explained that the attack happened as he was leaving the church after the meeting had ended.

Recounting the incident, he said some people called out to him, appearing to seek assistance.
According to him, the situation quickly changed when he turned back to respond.
Describing what followed, he said:
“Unknown to me, they were angry Muslim who were bittɛred because of a growing number of people who are leaving Islam in my community in Gambia because of my testimony.”
He that two individuals threw acid at him, causing severe injuries to his face and affecting his eyes.
Despite multiple surgeries, he said he continues to experience medical complications linked to the attack.
Faith remains unchanged
Reflecting on his recovery journey, the man said support from fellow Christians helped him through the difficult period.
Speaking about the physical scars and ongoing pain, he stated:
“I bear this scar and pain for Jesus. This is the mark that I left darkness into light.”
He also reaffirmed his commitment to his faith despite the challenges.
“Although, they are still threatening me, but there is no going back from following Jesus.”
His testimony has generated reactions online, with many social media users expressing sympathy, offering prayers and discussing the importance of religious freedom, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.
