A Nigerian woman has stirred reactions online after sharing an unexpected encounter with a much younger man.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @thebeninblogger, she recounted how a 19-year-old boy boldly approached her and expressed interest in a relationship.
“Boys are very corrupt these days. I’m surprised. Just look at me, as old as I am, a 19-year-old boy walked up to me and said, ‘Mama, I like you.’ I was like, what? He said, ‘Mama, be calming down, I will handle you well and take care of you,’” she said.
Clearly stunned by the experience, the woman questioned the upbringing of young men today, wondering whether parents are still playing their roles effectively.
She went on to express disbelief at the level of boldness displayed by the teenager, noting that such confidence from someone so young raises concerns about values and discipline among the younger generation.
“Is it that parents are not doing their jobs? Or are fathers and mothers not doing their jobs well? Because how can a boy have so much confidence?” she added.
Her statement has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on age dynamics and modern dating behaviour.
One user wrote, “This generation no get fear again 😅,” while another commented, “Parenting has really changed for real.”
