Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said his loyalty to the President has remained unwavering, insisting that he has never betrayed the confidence reposed in him.
Gbajabiamila spoke on Saturday at his 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme held at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives also addressed allegations linked to the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), saying investigations into the matter had cleared him of wrongdoing.
According to Gbajabiamila, the House of Representatives and other investigative processes examined the allegations against him and followed due process.
He said the controversy had subjected him to intense public scrutiny in recent months.
“The past few months have tested me in ways I never expected. Stories were written, strange accusations were made, lies were told, and my integrity was questioned,” he said.
Gbajabiamila said the reports of the investigations had been made available to the public, adding that some individuals had been under pressure to condemn him before the investigative processes were concluded.
He also said President Tinubu had remained confident that he was not involved in the alleged activities surrounding the PFIPC.
“Mr. President knows his Chief of Staff very well. Having worked closely with me for many years, he was therefore supremely confident that I was not in any way involved in those nefarious things,” Gbajabiamila said.
He maintained that the allegations would not interfere with his responsibilities as Chief of Staff or his commitment to the President’s administration.
“No amount of money, no amount of blackmail or lies, whether sponsored from within or outside, will detract me from my work and the work Mr. President has given me to do,” he said.
On his relationship with Tinubu, Gbajabiamila said his political loyalty to the President had remained intact, even when they did not necessarily agree on every political matter.

“In politics, loyalty is the currency we spend the most. I have been with Mr. President for many years. I did not question his leadership and never betrayed his trust in me. I stayed loyal then and I remain loyal now. My commitment to his Renewed Hope agenda is unshaken,” he said.
Gbajabiamila empowers 5,000 constituents
The Chief of Staff’s comments came during an empowerment programme targeted at residents of his Surulere constituency.
Gbajabiamila said about 5,000 people from communities in the area were expected to benefit from the initiative.
The beneficiaries received various forms of support, including cash, vehicles, electric tricycles, buses, security patrol vehicles and an ambulance.
Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, commended Gbajabiamila for what he described as his continued support for his constituents.
Hamzat also urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing the President’s continued commitment to the APC and his role in the development of the party.
