Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the AAC, has spoken about the attack on Brigadier General Musa Uba, the Commander of the 25 Task Force Brigade based in Damboa, Borno State
In an interview on Honest Bunch Podcast by Glitch Africa Studios, Sowore said when General Uba and his team were ambushed by terrorists, the general managed to escape at first. He said the general made a video call and shared his exact location with military officials so they could come and rescue him
Sowore said instead of Nigerian soldiers getting to that location to save General Uba, it was Boko Haram terrorists who got there first and captured him. He said he believes that someone must have leaked General Uba’s location to the terrorists.
In Sowore’s words: “The investigation that I saw was done was that he was sending Whatsapp messages, he even did a video call to his people and said, ‘This is my location’. And instead of the Nigerian army to go to his location and rescue him, it was Boko Haram that went there. So somebody must have given his location away”
