The announcement was signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and separately confirmed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the APC, the revised timetable aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the schedule released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections.
Under the schedule, the sale of forms will take place between April 25 and May 2, 2026, while submission of completed forms is set to close on May 4, 2026. Screening of aspirants across various positions—including State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential seats—will be conducted from May 6 to May 9, 2026, in phases.
Appeals arising from the screening of State House of Assembly and House of Representatives aspirants are scheduled for May 12 and May 13, 2026.
The party further stated that primary elections will commence on May 15, 2026, beginning with the House of Representatives, followed by the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries, and will conclude on May 23, 2026.
Details of the cost of forms were also released. Aspirants for State Houses of Assembly are to pay ₦1,000,000 for Expression of Interest and ₦5,000,000 for Nomination forms. For the House of Representatives, the fees are ₦1,000,000 and ₦9,000,000 respectively, while Senate aspirants will pay ₦3,000,000 and ₦17,000,000.
Governorship aspirants are expected to pay ₦10,000,000 for Expression of Interest and ₦40,000,000 for Nomination forms, while presidential aspirants will pay ₦30,000,000 and ₦70,000,000 respectively.
The APC added that female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities will only be required to pay the Expression of Interest fee and 50 per cent of the Nomination fee for any position.
It also directed that all payments be made through its designated accounts with Union Bank Plc (0239691733), UBA Plc (1025098328), and Zenith Bank Plc (1014008105).
