TINUBU VOWS TO CONTEST AGAIN, SAYS INSECURITY WON’T FORCE HIM OUT

President Bola Tinubu has confirmed his intention to run for a second term in office, making it clear that the country’s security challenges will not push him out of power.

He made this known while hosting Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang alongside other stakeholders from Plateau State, where he addressed concerns about insecurity and political pressure.

Speaking during the meeting, Tinubu accused some individuals of exploiting the nation’s security situation to weaken his administration, warning that such actions ultimately benefit his political adversaries and hostile elements.

“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” Tinubu said.

The President maintained a defiant tone amid growing criticism, describing himself as unwavering in the face of pressure and determined to remain in office.

“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term,” he said.

His comments come at a time when concerns over attacks, kidnappings and killings persist across different parts of the country, with opposition voices and civil society groups urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts to address the situation.

Despite the criticisms, Tinubu has continued to defend his administration’s handling of security, insisting that support is being strengthened for security agencies to confront threats and restore order nationwide.

Having assumed office in May 2023, Tinubu is set to complete his current tenure in 2027, when Nigerians will head to the polls again to decide the next president.
