The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has unveiled a new welfare transportation initiative aimed at improving the daily movement of its officers and men across Abuja and its environs.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, anipr., mipra, on April 26, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD., fcai., said the scheme was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, and is scheduled to commence operations on Monday, April 27, 2026.
According to the Command, three Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses have been deployed to serve designated routes within the FCT, designed to ease transportation burdens and improve welfare support for personnel.
The first bus, with registration number NPF 7993 D, will operate from the Goshen, Auta-Balefi axis, passing through Masaka, Mararaba, and Nyanya, before terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The second bus, NPF 7994 D, will depart from Zuba Divisional Headquarters and move through Madalla, Abubakar Police Barracks, Brick City, Kubwa, Dutse Junction, and the Secretariat, also terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters.
The third bus, NPF 7992 D, will take off from Kuje Divisional Headquarters and pass through Kuje Police Barracks, Airport Road, Lugbe, and the Stadium axis, ending its route at Area 11 Force Headquarters.
All buses are scheduled to depart their respective locations daily at 0615 hours (6:15 a.m.).
CP Sanusi commended the Inspector-General of Police for the initiative, describing it as a clear demonstration of commitment to the welfare, working conditions, and overall well-being of police personnel. He urged officers to take full advantage of the scheme, noting that improved welfare directly enhances discipline, efficiency, and service delivery.
