APC Adopts Olarewaju as Consensus Reps Candidate in Amuwo-Odofin

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency have adopted Moses Olarewaju as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives ahead of the May 23 primaries, following a stakeholders’ meeting where 40 of 42 leaders endorsed his candidacy.

The decision was reached at a meeting convened by Musiliu Obanikoro and attended by party chieftains, community leaders and aspirants. Deliberations reportedly centered on leadership capacity, grassroots support and electoral viability before Olarewaju emerged as the preferred candidate through a voice vote ratification.

Some aspirants stepped down in support of the consensus arrangement, while party leaders described the endorsement as final and binding, calling it a rare display of unity within the party across Amuwo-Odofin Local Government and Oriade LCDA.

The APC leaders said Olarewaju represents the collective position of the constituency’s apex leadership, although they acknowledged that other aspirants still have the constitutional right to contest in the primaries despite the consensus decision.

The endorsement is seen as a major push for party cohesion ahead of the primaries and could shape the political contest for the federal constituency as the ruling party seeks a united front going into the election.
