President Bola Tinubu has said that Almighty Allah has granted him the wisdom and resilience to continue governing Nigerians following his recent visit to the holy mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Speaking with journalists after observing prayers at the Ka’aba, the President expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity, good health and successful completion of the spiritual exercise.
Tinubu said his prayer was for Nigeria’s diversity to be transformed into prosperity, noting that the country comprises people of different faiths and backgrounds.
“I feel fulfilled and grateful to Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity and the health. The day went very well,” he said.
He added, “The prayer is for Allah to convert our diversity. Nigeria is full of diversity. It is made up of all the faiths. May Allah convert all the diversity to prosperity for the country. That is my prayer.”
Asked about his requests during the spiritual exercise, Tinubu disclosed that he prayed for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians, expressing confidence that his prayers had been answered.
“Well, I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that has been granted,” he stated.
The President recalled that he undertook a similar spiritual exercise before the 2023 presidential election, when he sought Allah’s blessings and promised to return to express gratitude.
According to him, power belongs to Almighty Allah, who can grant it to anyone and withdraw it whenever He chooses.
Tinubu said he firmly believes that God had favoured him by making him President of Nigeria, adding that he remained committed to using the opportunity responsibly.
He further reaffirmed his determination to promote national development and prosperity, saying his commitment to Nigeria had become stronger.
“My commitment is higher, and committed to bringing prosperity. To develop the country consistently with the wish of Allah and the support of the people,” he said.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to prioritise Allah, follow their consciences and remain committed to the right path towards national greatness.
The President also maintained that Nigeria’s economy had overcome its most difficult period, insisting that ongoing reforms were producing encouraging results.
“The foundation is solid. The economy has come out of the dark tunnel. It is inspiring. We need to build the future for our youths,” he said.
He stressed the importance of investing in the younger generation, warning that leaders would be judged by what they did to secure the future of the country.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that the prevailing economic difficulties would soon be overcome, expressing appreciation for the support, faith and recognition accorded to his administration.
He also thanked the management of the Ka’aba for granting him access to the sacred structure, describing the experience as a historic moment.
The President expressed appreciation to the Saudi King and Crown Prince for the hospitality and honour extended to him and members of his delegation during the visit.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to maintain faith in Almighty Allah, saying the country would overcome its challenges through collective determination and divine guidance.
