The moment has attracted interest because the robot had reportedly been unveiled just a day earlier, with promotional videos showcasing its physical capabilities.
Those demonstrations showed the machine kicking dents into car doors, lifting the front ends of vehicles and performing a flip after jumping from a platform approximately four metres high.
The promotional displays presented the robot as capable of executing demanding physical movements, making the footage from the launch event particularly striking.
However, it remains unclear what caused the apparent failure during the demonstration. Unitree Robotics had not publicly commented on the incident at the time of writing, according to the information available for this report.
