FG’s Free Skills Training: Artisans to Receive Stipends Under New Bauchi Programme

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), Bauchi, have signed an agreement to train artisans under Phase III of the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Programme.

The agreement, signed on November 4 at the ITF Bauchi Area Office, allocates 50 training slots to TIC Bauchi. Participants will undergo 14 weeks of training, with 70 per cent of sessions devoted to practical work and 30 per cent to theory.

TIC Bauchi will provide trainers, materials, equipment and training facilities, while ITF will fund the programme, provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and pay stipends to participating artisans.

The amount of the stipend was not disclosed in the announcement. Reports about the wider 2026 SUPA cycle have mentioned ₦35,000 monthly, but that figure has not been confirmed for the 50 artisans covered by this Bauchi agreement. Applicants should therefore verify the amount with ITF before relying on it.

The programme is intended to improve artisans’ skills, support small businesses and expand employment opportunities. Training will be monitored through attendance records, progress reports and performance assessments.

How to apply

The announcement does not provide an application link, registration deadline or instructions for a public recruitment exercise. It confirms that 50 artisans have been allocated to TIC Bauchi. Interested artisans in Bauchi should contact the TIC Bauchi Centre or ITF Bauchi Area Office to ask whether any places remain and how participants were selected. Do not pay anyone promising a place or stipend. For programme information, visit the official ITF website at https://itf.gov.ng/.
