Some beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) grant say they cannot withdraw or transfer money through NairaGram, with complaints describing delays lasting days.
Replying on Facebook, NairaGram said: “Your ₦50,000 is safe in your wallet.” It acknowledged that some customers could not withdraw using 72600# and said it was “working to restore withdrawals.”
The provider also told a customer whose transfer had not reached its recipient that it was checking transactions that failed to reach a point-of-sale (POS) agent or bank account.
Beneficiaries continued asking when the problem would be fixed. One wrote: “Over 72hrs Unfortunate,” while another asked: “Please, can we get an update on the withdrawal issues?”
NairaGram has not given a date for restoring withdrawals. Its replies do not confirm that every transaction has been resolved.
