Ekiti decides: Fayose casts vote, predicts landslide victory for Governor Oyebanji

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Saturday joined other voters to participate in the ongoing governorship election after casting his ballot at Polling Unit 1, St. David Primary School, Afao-Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Fayose, who arrived at the polling unit during the exercise, spoke briefly with journalists after voting, expressing strong confidence in the chances of the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji.

Fayose Declares Confidence in Oyebanji’s Victory

The former governor stated that based on the prevailing political atmosphere and voter sentiment across the state, Oyebanji was already on track to secure re-election.

He argued that the mood on the ground reflected widespread acceptance of the governor’s performance and leadership.

“Oyebanji has already won the election,” Fayose said.

He further added that the general “body language” of voters indicated an overwhelming victory for the incumbent.

“If you look at the state of things in the state and the body language of the people, I am predicting an overwhelming victory for him,” he added.

Voting continued across various polling units in Ekiti State as electoral officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside security personnel, supervised the process.

The election has witnessed turnout across different parts of the state as residents exercise their franchise in the governorship poll.
