A Nigerian female soldier, Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort, has been arrested after allegedly stealing jewelry valued at N35 million from the residence of an army general’s wife in Kaduna.
The incident reportedly occurred at the home of the army general’s wife, where Lance Corporal Comfort was assigned to duty.
It is reported that Corporal Jonah Comfort had allegedly been monitoring the general’s wife for some time prior to the incident.
According to insider sources speaking to SaharaReports, questions have been raised regarding the extensive collection of jewelry owned by the general’s wife, who is described as a full-time housewife.
The jewelry stolen by Lance Corporal Comfort, amounting to N35 million, was reportedly only a fraction of the general’s wife’s valuable possessions.
Lance Corporal Comfort reportedly sold the stolen jewelry to a jeweler for a ridiculous sum of N5 million, but unfortunately, she was caught.
“The army authorities have been careful over the issue because the general’s wife is a full housewife, so how come she has jewellery worth millions of Naira? The jewellery stolen by the soldier, which was valued at N35 million, was just part of her collection,” a source close to the situation said.
“The female soldier had long been monitoring the woman before stealing the jewellery worth N35 million which she later sold to one jeweller for N5 million but unfortunately she was caught.
“Sadly, most of these female soldiers have been turned into slaves by our senior officers’ wives. Now she has been dismissed and put in a cell.”
