A Canada-based Nigerian wife has gone viral after making her husband publicly vow never to cheat on her before bringing him to Canada.
The woman, identified on Facebook as Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, shared posts explaining why she wanted her husband to make the declaration and publish it on Facebook and WhatsApp.
Woman explains condition for husband’s relocation
In one of her posts, Ezinne said her husband had to record a video confessing and promising to remain faithful to her if he eventually relocated to Canada.
She wrote:
“Before my husband can be given a visa to Canada, he must make a video confessing and post on Facebook and his WhatsApp status that if he comes to Canada and cheats on me, his wife, Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, he will die, in the name of Jesus. And he will remain faithful to me, his wife, and be a good husband to me, his wife, and be a good father to our children.
“This is the only way God can give him a visa to come to Canada, thus said the Lord!!!”
In another post, she added:
“Oh Lord, kill my husband Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue and his accomplice, if he ever comes to Canada and has sexual intercourse with anything or anyone other than me, Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, his wife, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
“There is nothing anyone will say or do that will change the fact that my husband shall surely DIE if he comes to Canada and has anything to do with any woman, man or animal sexually, except with his wife, Ezinne Maryjane.”
Husband records video message
In a video shared online, the woman’s husband publicly declared his commitment to remain faithful to his wife if he eventually joins her in Canada.
He said:
“My lovely wife, as it is directed by God and I want the best for you and my children, I don’t want you to be hurt any longer. I want peace in your life, I want peace in my marriage.
“I confess and I promise, if I ever come to Canada and cheat on you, that I die in the name of Jesus Christ.
“I want to be the best husband for you, my wife. We have tried staying three good years without me and your children. I want the best for you, I want the best for my children.
“I keep my promise for you, my love, okay? I want you to be happy in this life and anything that makes you happy in this life, I will surely do it for you.
“So, if I ever come to Canada and cheat on you, that I die in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
“Anything that hurts you in the past, please forgive and move on with your lovely home, okay? I will never divorce you, my wife.
“I don’t care what anybody says or what people will talk about. All I care for is you and my children.
“Nothing will make me leave you. Be happy, my wife. I so much love you, honey. I will post it anyway you want me to post it for you to know I love you and trust you. I love you, baby.”
