Ademola Abiodun, a popular Nigerian social media personality and disc jockey, better known as DJ Chicken, has regained freedom from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos after successfully fulfilling his bail conditions.
It would be recalled that the entertainer was remanded in prison on July 10, 2026, following his arraignment at a Magistrate Court in Ogba over a viral video in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Announcing his freedom on Tuesday evening via an Instagram post, DJ Chicken simply wrote: “I’m back”.
Also, his lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, confirmed the social media personality’s release via his Instagram story, stating, “All Glory to God! djchicken”.
Abiodun was arraigned before a Lagos magistrate’s court on July 10 and remanded to the correctional facility following a video he posted on his social media accounts.
He faced three counts bordering on threat to kill, conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, and violation of the Cybercrime Act.
DJ Chicken pleaded not guilty to the charges. The magistrate granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum.
The conditions were stringent: one surety must be a civil servant, the other a community leader with landed property in Lagos.
In the now-deleted clip, which has since gone viral, he made comments in Yorùbá regarding Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.

The charges against the content creator stemmed from that video, which authorities deemed a threat to life.
