UCL: Arsenal, Man City, Real Madrid win as Como thrash Lens 9-1

Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid recorded victories in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, while Italian side Como produced one of the biggest results of the round with a stunning 9-1 away win over RC Lens.

Arsenal defeated Slavia Prague 2-1 in the Czech Republic, extending their impressive unbeaten run against the hosts.

Viktor Gyokeres played a decisive role in the victory, providing an assist for Noni Madueke’s opening goal before getting on the scoresheet himself.

Madueke put the Gunners ahead in the ninth minute after being set up by Gyokeres, who later doubled Arsenal’s advantage in the 38th minute with a low finish into the far corner following a combination with Mikel Merino.

Slavia Prague fought back in the closing stages and reduced the deficit through Wiktor Nowak in the 89th minute, but Arsenal held on to secure all three points.

The result extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run against Slavia Prague to 12 matches, while the Czech side continued its poor record in elite European competitions.

Meanwhile, Como stole the headlines with a remarkable 9-1 demolition of RC Lens away from home, becoming the first team to score nine goals in an away match in the competition.

Manchester City also secured an important 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig, with Erling Haaland continuing his impressive scoring record against the German side. The Norwegian striker registered his 13th goal against Leipzig in nine meetings.

Real Madrid claimed a hard-fought 3-2 away victory over AEK Athens, while Portuguese giants FC Porto delivered an emphatic performance to defeat Napoli 4-1.

Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat away to Fenerbahce, while Club Brugge secured a 2-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven.
