Daniel rushed to Instagram on Friday, May 22, to share the tragic news that Isaac had died on Thursday, May 21. He shared a headshot of Isaac as well as a photo of himself holding Isaac, along with an emotional comment about his kid.

“Oh, sweet boy. Daniel wrote, “I have so much to say, but I don’t know how yet.” “I already miss you so much, and the agony in my heart is more than I can handle. But after going through thousands of photos and videos this week, I’m also filled with immense pride.”

“Your 14 years were full of so many challenges, but you met them all with such grit…and you somehow kept your trademark joy despite it all,” he said. “You definitely had a spark unlike any other, Isaac! Remembering how loved you were and how vibrant your time here was brings me immense peace. Being your father was a privilege of a lifetime. I’m so proud of you, and I’ll adore you forever. Rest peacefully, son.

As previously reported, Daniel stated in a December 2025 Instagram post that Isaac had stage 3 mouth cancer. Isaac was born with Fanconi Anemia, which the Cleveland Clinic describes as a “rare inherited condition that affects your bone marrow and many other parts of your body.”

“We found out last week that Isaac has cancer in his mouth,” Daniel said in the caption of his December Instagram carousel. “To be honest, we knew this day would come because Fanconi anemia makes it almost certain.. But it’s definitely coming a little earlier than we expected, and hearing about your child is still such a shock, even if you’ve been bracing for it for years.”
