The African Democratic Congress has appointed Mr Macauley Hunohashi as Director-General of its Adamawa State governorship campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
The ADC governorship candidate in the state, Modibbo R. Hammantukur, announced the appointment in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
Hammantukur said the decision followed consultations with party stakeholders across Adamawa State.
He said Hunohashi was selected based on his experience, qualifications and commitment to the party’s growth.
According to him, the appointment is aimed at strengthening the party’s campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
“After a deep consultation with our stakeholders at all levels within Adamawa State, we collectively agreed he is the best personality to drive our campaign machinery to success at the 2027 polls,” he said.
Hammantukur said he had promised during the party’s governorship primary campaign to change the socio-political and economic trajectory of Adamawa State.
He said the campaign would require people with relevant experience to translate the party’s objectives into practical results.
The ADC candidate described Hunohashi as a political communicator with experience in public affairs, media strategy, government, grassroots mobilisation and journalism.
He said the appointee began his career with the Nigeria Television Authority before moving into government service.
Hammantukur added that Hunohashi later ventured into the private sector and established Broad Vision Network Limited.
He also described the new campaign DG as a unifying figure capable of working across Adamawa’s diverse communities.
“Adamawa has close to 80 tribes in one place and its blessed potential. Therefore, he is also a man of unity for Adamawa,” Hammantukur said.
He noted that Hunohashi was a card-carrying member of the ADC and hailed from Lamurde Local Government Area in the Numan Federation.
Hammantukur congratulated him on the appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the campaign structure.
The ADC candidate said the party would focus on delivering its proposed political and economic agenda to the people of Adamawa ahead of the 2027 election.
