A 50-year-old Nigerian woman, identified as Olushola Olonade, has given birth to quadruplets, two boys and two girls, after waiting many years to get married and have children.
Olonade shared her story on Sunday during a church service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Solid Rock Parish in Ojodu, Lagos, where she disclosed that early medical scans showed she was expecting twins. Later scans increased the number to three, and finally to four babies.
“My name is Olushola Olonade. I used to be Olushola Adeniji for 48 years. I got married on December 12, 2023, after a long wait,” she said.
“I have always said I do not want to wait twice. I waited for my husband. I do not want to wait for children. I took in last year.
“When we went for the first scan, the doctor said he was seeing twins. I told my husband that even if it is one, they will stop calling me Mummy Shola.
“We went for a second scan, and it was another doctor. He said he was seeing three. We went back again, and the doctor asked how many he had told me before. I said three.
“Before then, I had a crisis. He said, ‘I think I am seeing four.’ I said four. So, I told my husband that I was not coming back home.”
She delivered the quadruplets on March 6, 2026, three weeks before her 50th birthday, which she celebrated on March 31.
Olonade noted that multiple births run in her family, adding that her relatives, including her aunt, were amazed at the news.
“The beauty of the testimony is that I had them three weeks before my 50th. I clocked 50 on March 31, 2026. We have a lot of twins in my family,” she added.
“I want to thank God for sparing my life. The living was not brought out of the dead, and the dead was not brought out of the living.”
Olonade got married on December 12, 2023, at age 48, after many years of waiting for a husband. She said she prayed to have children soon after her wedding.
