Another exit from Makinde’s government as budget commissioner Ojo quits

Oyo State’s Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ayobami Ojo, has left Governor Seyi Makinde’s cabinet.

Ojo communicated his exit through a letter dated Monday, November 2, 2026, which he addressed to the governor and routed via the Secretary to the State Government. In it, he indicated that his resignation took immediate effect, citing the appointment letter issued to him on June 22, 2026.

The commissioner used the letter to thank Makinde for the chance to serve, saying he regarded his tenure as an honour rather than a routine assignment. He described his time in the administration as a privilege he does not take for granted, and expressed appreciation for the trust reposed in him.

Notably, Ojo did not state why he was stepping down.

His departure adds to a growing list of exits from the Makinde government. Others who previously left include Kabiru Salami, the governor’s Executive Assistant on Security Coordination; Segun Ogunwuyi, a former Chief of Staff; and Tara Adefope, who headed the Oyo State Due Process Office.
