The FOOG Women Support Group (FWSG) has commenced a grassroots mobilisation campaign across Delta State to canvass support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.
The group said its political message would focus on mobilising women and other residents to support the continuation of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations, while taking their policies, programmes and development initiatives directly to voters at the community level.
Director-General of the FOOG Women Support Group for Tinubu, Chief (Mrs.) Esther Ori Okotie-Eboh, the Iye of Warri Kingdom, disclosed this while outlining the organisation’s mobilisation plans ahead of the elections.
Okotie-Eboh said the group had adopted a door-to-door strategy to enable its members to engage residents directly, explain the reasons for their support for Tinubu and Oborevwori, and canvass votes for the two political leaders.
She said the approach would complement conventional campaign rallies and public gatherings by taking the group’s message directly to households and communities across Delta State.
According to her, the campaign would cover the three senatorial districts of the state, with members engaging residents on the administrations’ policies and programmes and urging them to support Tinubu and Oborevwori for another term.
Okotie-Eboh said the initiative followed a directive by the leader and sponsor of the FOOG Women Support Group, Mr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, that no stone should be left unturned in the mobilisation effort ahead of the 2027 elections.
She explained that the group planned to mobilise women and female residents aged 18 years and above across Delta State and beyond, stressing that women would be central to its grassroots engagement strategy.
The FOOG leader likened the door-to-door approach to the evangelism strategy associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses, saying members would take their political message from one household and community to another.
She added that the group would sustain its community-to-community mobilisation as the 2027 elections draw closer, urging Nigerians and Deltans who identify with its political message to support the re-election bid of Tinubu and Oborevwori.
