2027: Again, APC Gives Tinubu Soft Landing

…waves screening requirement for President

By Caleb Ishaya,  Abuja

National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has waived screening requirements for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of party presidential primary election.

APC NWC made the resolution yesterday at its 188th meeting in Abuja.

In a statement issued by its Spokesman, Felix Morka, said the NWC deemed the president “as duly screened in accordance with the Constitution of the Party for the purpose of participation in the upcoming primary elections”.

“The NWC noted that the President has received overwhelming endorsement and vote of confidence from critical stakeholders of the Party, including the Progressive Governors Forum, the leadership and members of the National Assembly, and other organs of the Party at the APC National Summit of May 22, 2025, and other major statutory events of the Party.

“It noted further that, as the incumbent President, and leader of our great Party, having been duly screened and cleared ahead of the 2022 presidential primaries, requiring his physical appearance before a screening committee, at this time, would be redundant and unnecessary”, the statement added.

AljazirahNigeria reports that President Tinubu appears to be the only person to have picked his Expression of interest and Nomination forms. By this singular action of the APC , the party is getting ready for the 2027 election including seeking and persuading the majority of voters to reelect President Tinubu for a second term in office.
