Carlos was also found with gunshot wounds to his head and chin. When police arrived at the scene, he was reportedly taken to hospital, where he remains intubated.

Following the incident, Lívia’s family reportedly provided investigators with information about Carlos and his previous relationship with the law student.

Police searching his apartment allegedly discovered a .38-calibre revolver, marijuana, torn pieces of clothing with traces of blood and an empty strip of clonazepam.

Investigators also reportedly found Lívia’s name written in blood with a finger on the bathroom mirror.
According to Lívia’s family, she and Carlos had been in a relationship for approximately four years before ending their relationship four months ago.

Her family claimed that Carlos did not accept the breakup and continued stalking Lívia on multiple occasions.

The alleged behaviour reportedly became so concerning that Lívia changed parts of her routine in an effort to avoid encountering him.

Speaking about the tragedy, Lívia’s sister, Laura, said:

“It never crossed our minds that something like this could happen, let alone so close to home. He had been part of our family for four years.”

Local media also reported that Carlos was a trophy-winning amateur footballer.

He remains under investigation for femicide in connection with Lívia’s death.

Lívia was laid to rest in Pindamonhangaba on August 11, a day after the fatal incident.
