A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after explaining why dating a mature man can sometimes be frustrating, particularly when disagreements or break-ups arise.
In a viral video, the lady argued that emotionally mature men are less likely to beg, argue or chase a partner who has decided to leave a relationship.
She said such men often recognise when a relationship is no longer working and would rather walk away than engage in unnecessary drama.
‘Once you tell them it’s over, they are gone’
According to her, one of the surprising things about dating a mature man is how quickly he can accept a break-up.
She said, “Dating a matured man can be so annoying. Yes, because once you tell them it’s over, they are gone. They will tell you okay.”
The lady explained that their reaction should not necessarily be interpreted as a sign that they never loved their partner.
She suggested that mature men may simply have a different approach to relationships and conflicts.
According to her, they are less interested in prolonged arguments over issues they consider unnecessary or childish.
“It’s not because they don’t love you, but because they see those things as childish stuff and the matured man is not ready to settle down for who is not matured,” she said.
She says maturity is not determined by age
The lady further explained that a mature man may not tolerate repeated changes in behaviour or unnecessary relationship drama.
She said some men would simply allow their partners to leave rather than repeatedly trying to convince them to stay.
“Sometimes, once you start acting strange, they will let you go. They won’t bother you,” she said.
She added that such men may have already experienced enough difficulties in life and relationships to avoid deliberately putting themselves through additional stress.
“They don’t need to stress themselves to date you because you’ve already gone through those stress. They don’t need more stress,” she stated.
According to her, this attitude also means that a mature man may give his partner the freedom to make her own decisions.
“Anything you want, they will let you do it. If you want to break up with them, they will let you go. They will not beg you,” she said.
However, she stressed that maturity should not be judged solely by a person’s age.
“Maturity is not by age because you can see a man at 50 yet he’s not mature,” she concluded.
