Power Oil’s WalkHeartOn has celebrated its 10th anniversary with thousands of Nigerians participating in the annual heart-health initiative in Lagos. The 10th edition was held on October 1, 2026, at The Stables Sports Ground, Surulere, bringing together participants for a day of physical activity, wellness and entertainment all in celebration of World Heart Day. The organisers recorded 25,536 registrations, with 11,896 people physically attending the event.

WalkHeartOn has, over the past decade, encouraged Nigerians to incorporate movement and healthier habits into their daily lives. The initiative has also provided an opportunity for families, friends, colleagues and fitness communities to participate together. This year’s edition included fitness activities, health checks, games, refreshments, music and entertainment, alongside the central heart-health walk.

Beyond the numbers, the event reflected the importance of creating accessible opportunities for people to engage in physical activity. Participants were able to combine exercise with social interaction and entertainment, making wellness part of a shared experience. Power Oil has continued to position WalkHeartOn as part of its commitment to encouraging healthier choices among Nigerians.
Commenting on the milestone, Roland Akpe, Marketing Manager, Oils and Fats Portfolio at Tolaram, said, “For 10 years, WalkHeartOn has been a reflection of Power Oil’s commitment to helping Nigerians live healthier lives, reminding us that caring for our hearts goes beyond what we eat. It is also about staying active, moving more and making healthier choices every day. As we celebrate World Heart Day and a decade of WalkHeartOn, we are proud to have created a platform that brings Nigerians together to take meaningful steps towards healthier hearts.”
As the initiative moves beyond its first decade, the strong participation at WalkHeartOn 10.0 signals continued interest in activities that promote active living and create communities around healthier lifestyles.
