It should be taken for granted that every country’s air force should have the best possible equipment and personnel. Lives depend on it, as well as a country’s national security. But not according to the Royal Air Force. Hiring women and ethnic minorities are the top priority for recruitment—appalling, as well as racist, criteria. Hiring for any position should not be about race, but about performance. To hire on the basis of identity casts deserving women and ethnic minorities in an unfavorable light with their peers, suggesting they were not hired on merit.
Britain adopted its own affirmative action bill in 2009, taking a lesson from America’s practice of affirmative action. Only Britain’s came decades later. The West has made incredible strides in human rights, putting most societies to shame. The Islamic Sharia includes numerous abusive tenets, in many countries of Africa, human rights barely exist, and China is infamously racist against blacks. The Western Left, however, cares little about human rights, despite its posturing. Its real agenda is to manipulate victimhood to perpetuate a destructive woke agenda everywhere.
Affirmative action was instituted as a response to the fact that blacks were rejected for jobs and housing across the board, prompting the American Civil Rights Act of 1964, which included an affirmative action policy. America has since then had a black American president. Meanwhile, Joe Biden has flung open America’s Southern border to anyone who wishes to enter, including jihadists and the worst kind of criminals. Those who advocate for responsible immigration are deemed “racist.” Even visible minorities who do not agree with the woke are rebuked for “racism.” Similarly, Britain’s open-door policy has led to North Africans and other migrants flooding into the country illegally, without a vetting process.
Reasonable accommodation has given way to unreasonable and damaging immigration and hiring policies in the West, at the expense of law-abiding citizens.
Kudos to this senior female RAF recruitment officer for resigning, both on principle and for her own safety. However the Air Vice-Marshal, Maria Byford, chief of staff personnel and air secretary, “has said she is ‘unashamed’ of the force’s diversity targets, amid claims that it has effectively paused its recruitment of white men.” Byford is “one of the most senior ranking women in the military.”
Hiring on merit, regardless of gender or race, is the best policy for national security. While China, Russia and Iran focus on winning wars, the UK and other globalist governments are focused on wokism. Without a swift turnaround, the West is finished.

A senior female RAF recruitment officer has resigned amid claims of pressure to meet diversity targets.
The unnamed Group Captain is reported to have voiced frustration that white men were rejected in an bid to recruit more ethnic minorities and women.
The Royal Air Force aims to hit targets of 20% for minority ethnicity and 40% for women among new recruits by 2030.
The force insisted recruitment had not been paused and it was working to recruit more under-represented people.
Britain’s armed forces have made no secret they want to attract more women, Black and Asian recruits.
The head of Britain’s armed forces, Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, has described their under-representation as woeful.
But the RAF has gone the furthest, setting ambitious targets to more than double its recruitment of women to hit 40% by 2030, as well as to ensure ethnic minorities make up 20% of new recruits.
First reported by Sky News, pressure to meet those targets was felt by a head of recruitment – who has now resigned and moved to another role.
Defence sources suggested she was being leant on to turn away white male candidates.
In a statement, the RAF insisted recruitment had not been paused, but it said it was doing everything it could to increase recruitment of under-represented groups….
The Ministry of Defence said operational effectiveness was essential and insisted the RAF, like the rest of the armed forces, was determined to reflect the “society it serves to protect”….
