A 47-year-old woman identified as Mrs Pollina Alfred has been rescued by troops after she was reportedly kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The rescue operation was carried out on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, by troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP).
According to a military source who spoke to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops launched a search operation at about 7:00 a.m. after receiving information about the kidnapping.
The soldiers reportedly intensified their search and eventually tracked the suspected kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
The military source said the troops came under pressure while conducting the search operation, prompting the suspected kidnappers to abandon Mrs Alfred and flee into the surrounding area.
The woman was subsequently located and rescued by the troops.
