Tinubu retains Shettima as APC receives presidential nomination forms

The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Friday, formally received the presidential nomination forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The presentation was made during a ceremony at the Continental Hotel, Abuja, and was received by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

The forms were presented on behalf of President Tinubu by his Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Masari.

Describing the event as “a defining moment,” Prof. Yilwatda said it reaffirmed the party’s collective resolve to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda and deepen progress recorded across the country.

“The nomination forms were presented… and underscored the confidence of our party in the leadership of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as they prepare to seek a renewed mandate from the Nigerian people,” the National Chairman stated.

The ceremony drew a large turnout of party leaders, including the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Other governors present were Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno, and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, alongside party executives and critical stakeholders from across the federation.

According to Prof. Yilwatda, the atmosphere reflected “unity, confidence and shared purpose.”

“As we move towards 2027, the All Progressives Congress remains focused on strengthening its grassroots support, consolidating the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda and working together to build a more prosperous, secure and inclusive Nigeria for all,” he said.

The formal receipt of the nomination forms signals the early start of the APC’s mobilization towards the 2027 presidential election.
