Tinsel Star Actor, Victor Olaotan Dead, Five Years After Battling Brain Injury

Veteran Nollywood actor, Victor Olaotan, has reportedly passed away five years after battling a traumatic brain injury following a ghastly car accident.

The Tinsel star actor, popularly known as ‘big daddy’, is said to have died yesterday, Thursday, August 26th, in Lagos.

The late actor’s wife, Julia Olatan, is said to have shared in an interview with ‘The Punch’, that, her husband, who was receiving treatment in Turkey, had to come back to Nigeria because they could no more raise the money to continue the treatment.

Olaotan, best known for his role as Fred Ade-Williams in the long-running soap opera Tinsel, was involved in a career-ending car accident five years ago. He was driving to a movie set in October 2016 when he had an accident around Apple Junction, in Festac, Lagos.

Following the accident, money was solicited on his belave to support him get treatment. Some industry players contributed, and billionaire businessman Femi Otedola is also said to have given donated N30m for his treatment in Nigeria and Turkey.

His wife, who often spoke with her husband via video calls, is said to have shared that, whenever they spoke, she could see that he was “fighting for his life”. She is said to have sent gratitude to everyone who donated to support her husband while he was battling for his life.
