Prof. Aliagan described the elevation as a significant professional milestone that reflects dedication to the legal profession, commitment to justice and the pursuit of excellence.

He noted that the SAN rank remains one of the most distinguished honours in Nigeria’s legal profession, reserved for legal practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional distinction in advocacy or legal scholarship.

The university don, a renowned journalist, media scholar, former Editor of The Herald, Aviation Correspondent of The Guardian Lagos and former Director of Information at the University of Ilorin, said the recognition of Senior Sulyman was an occasion to celebrate professional achievement and dedication to public service.

Prof. Aliagan commended the Attorney General for his service to Kwara State, particularly in his capacity as the chief law officer of the state, noting the importance of principled legal practice, respect for the rule of law and the effective administration of justice in strengthening public confidence in the justice system.

He further observed that the conferment carries an enduring responsibility to uphold professional ethics, defend the principles of justice and contribute to the continued development of Nigeria’s legal institutions.

According to him, the recognition should also serve as an inspiration to younger lawyers and aspiring legal practitioners to pursue professional excellence through hard work, integrity, discipline and unwavering commitment to the law.

Prof. Aliagan wished Senior Ibrahim Sulyman continued success in his legal career and public service, expressing confidence that the honour would further boost his contributions to the legal profession and the administration of justice in Kwara State and Nigeria at large.
