…As Reps’ panel unveils plan to meet Prince Adeniyi without public notice
The Managing Director of Divine Dopacy Limited, Mr Gbenga Collins, on Tuesday gave a detailed account of how the self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council/Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PEAC/PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, allegedly requested ₦400 million to facilitate a contract for the refurbishment of an official residence allocated to him in Abuja.
Collins, who appeared before the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee investigating the inclusion of the purported council in the 2026 Appropriation Act, chaired by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, disclosed that the ₦400 million was paid in five tranches.
He said ₦100 million was paid on May 16, 2025; another ₦100 million on May 22, 2025; and a further ₦100 million on May 28, 2025. He added that ₦80 million was paid on June 20, 2025, into the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) account of World Entrepreneurship University Limited, while the remaining ₦20 million was paid into the Access Bank account of Sunshine Confectionery and Catering Services on July 29, 2025.
Collins said the money was raised from his colleagues, who were also involved in agribusiness in Ogbomoso. He appealed to the committee to assist him in recovering the ₦400 million, stating that he had been unable to participate in the 2026 cashew business and was under pressure from his colleagues to refund their money.
When asked whether the ₦400 million was intended as a bribe to Prince Adeyemi before the award of the contract, Collins answered in the negative.
He explained that his company neither applied for nor participated in a bidding process for the contract but was given a contract agreement and a bill of quantities.
Gagdi said, “We are not refusing to invite Prince Adeyemi here. We have directed him to appear before the committee, and the police have informed us that he is in their custody based on a court order. The court order does not restrict anyone, including his lawyers, from meeting with or seeing him.”
