Peter Obi has urged members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to avoid court cases and internal disputes as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections, warning that litigation could weaken efforts to build a strong political platform.
Obi made the appeal in Abuja shortly after formally joining the NDC alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, following his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Kwankwaso’s consultations with party stakeholders.
He stressed that internal disagreements should be resolved within party structures rather than through legal battles, noting that unity and focus are essential to achieving the party’s political objectives.
The NDC National Chairman, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, officially presented membership cards to both leaders, marking their entry into the party as part of ongoing opposition realignment efforts ahead of 2027.
In his remarks, Kwankwaso said the party shares a common ideology and urged Nigerians to register with the NDC, while Obi reaffirmed the vision of building a fair society where equal opportunities are accessible to all citizens.
