The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has confirmed the abduction of two of its employees in the Ogun region.
In a statement released on Monday and made available in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the company disclosed that the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
According to IBEDC management, the organisation is deeply concerned about the development and is prioritising efforts to secure the safe return of the affected staff.
“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time,” the statement read.
The company added that it is working closely with relevant security agencies while maintaining active communication with the families of the abducted workers, offering necessary support.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case and ongoing recovery efforts, IBEDC stated that it would not be providing additional details for now.
“We kindly request understanding and restraint as we prioritise the safety and well-being of those involved. We will provide updates as appropriate,” the statement concluded.
