PDP accuses Diri of snubbing Tinubu in Bayelsa APC campaign billboards

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has criticised Gov. Douye Diri over the omission of President Bola Tinubu’s photograph from APC campaign billboards.

The party accused Diri of being reluctant to identify with Tinubu’s re-election campaign in spite of defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Ikaebimo Mark, made the allegation in a statement issued on Saturday in Yenagoa.

Mark said several APC campaign billboards across the state capital urged voters to support the party’s National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates.

He, however, noted that the billboards did not feature Tinubu’s photograph.

Mark described the omission as evidence that Diri was not fully aligned with the APC’s national leadership and its position on Tinubu’s re-election.

“When we said that Gov. Douye Diri was not supporting President Bola Tinubu, we knew exactly what we were saying.

“Now, Governor Diri has erected APC campaign billboards across Bayelsa without Tinubu’s photograph.

“He is even afraid to associate himself with the photograph of the presidential candidate of his own party.

“How can this governor claim to be supporting President Tinubu?” Mark asked.
