The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), FCT Command, has recorded another milestone with the decoration and confirmation of distinguished Nigerians as Matrons and Patrons in a colourful ceremony held on April 15, 2026.
The well-attended event took place at the Police Officers’ Mess, Garki, Abuja, drawing prominent personalities from across different sectors—an indication of the growing partnership between the community and the Nigeria Police through the PCRC platform.
Among those decorated were: Alhaji Abdulmajid Solademi Oladimeji, Chief Executive Officer, Yajifarz & Son Limited, Dr. Mrs. Achimugu Aisha Sulaiman, Chief Executive Officer Felak Concept Group, Alhaji Kasim Mohammed Ikwa, Executive Chairman, Gwagwalada Area Council
Others include, Ambassador Dr. Mrs. Aisha Salihu Lemu; Founder-President, Major General Salihu Musa Lemu Memorial Foundation; Apostle Precious G. Ohiwerei; Lawal Toyin Victoria and Rev. Mrs. Module Kappo.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of PCRC FCT Command, Chief Dr. Rufus Ebegba, outlined the vision and mandate of the Committee, stressing its role in fostering trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Nigeria Police and the public.
He explained that the PCRC serves as a strategic partner to the police, providing support in logistics, intelligence gathering, and community-based information sharing aimed at enhancing security and combating crime.
In his own remarks, Chairman/CEO Yajifarz and Sons limited, Alhaji Abdulmajid Solademi who is also the President of Air Warriors Basketball Club of Abuja appreciated the gesture bestowed on him by the PCRC and promised to do all it takes under his watch and within the ambit of law to ensure a cordial relationship between the police force and the general public especially within the Federal Capital territory.
According to him a good working relationship between the general public and the Nigeria Police Force will ensure a safer society for all to live with one another in peace.
The decoration of Matrons and Patrons is both symbolic and strategic, aimed at strengthening community policing initiatives in the Federal Capital Territory. By incorporating respected individuals from various fields, the PCRC is expanding its network for intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, and public sensitization.
The initiative reflects modern policing approaches that emphasize shared responsibility in ensuring security. Community leaders, religious figures, business executives, and public office holders all play vital roles in promoting vigilance and supporting law enforcement efforts.
The ceremony marks a significant step in deepening collaboration between the police and the public, reinforcing the PCRC FCT Command’s commitment to building a safer and more secure society through inclusive participation and strategic partnerships.
