The candidate for the Zenith Labour Party in the recent governorship election in Osun State, Engr. John Adesuyi, has called for a bipartisan approach to governance and expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Adeleke administration to implement key development programs.
In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Adesuyi emphasized that the priority now should be on building Osun, setting aside political differences in light of the election’s conclusion.
He highlighted that the ZLP has proposed several people-oriented programs in its manifesto that could support the efforts of the current administration.
According to him, “The election is over, and the task of building a better Osun State must now take precedence over political differences. Osun State belongs to all of us. The success of the state should therefore be a collective responsibility.
“I would like to respectfully appeal to His Excellency, the Governor, to allow us to work together in the interest of the people of Osun State.”
Adesuyi specifically offered cooperation on implementing the party’s proposed 50,000 employment opportunities through the Agricultural Value Chain, as well as planned infrastructural interventions and other development initiatives.
“These programmes are not about political ownership. They are about the people of Osun State. If there are ideas that can create jobs, empower our young people, improve agriculture, develop infrastructure, and strengthen the economy of our state, we should all be willing to support them irrespective of the political party from which they originated,” the ZLP candidate said.
He added that his party was ready to contribute ideas, expertise, and support wherever they can help make Osun State better.
Adesuyi noted that governance now requires a renewed responsibility to all the people of Osun State, irrespective of political affiliation.
The ZLP candidate contested the August 16 Osun governorship election won by Governor Ademola Adeleke of the PDP.
