Lawyer, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Oluwashina Oluwaseun Olagbende, will mark his 50th birthday on Monday, August 17, 2026, with a focus on community service and youth development rather than a large birthday celebration.
Olagbende, an indigene of Owo, Ondo State, is the founder and chairman of King Shina Group of Companies and president of the Oluwashina Olagbende Foundation.
His business interests include real estate, oil and gas, printing, agro-allied services, automobiles, civil construction and hospitality.
The foundation has, over the years, focused on food support, education, healthcare and assistance to vulnerable people.
As part of activities to mark his 50th birthday, the foundation plans to hold food distribution programmes in five locations across Lagos.
The locations are Ikorodu, Ketu/Ojota, Oshodi, Agege and Obalende.
According to the foundation, the food bank initiative has been sustained for almost 15 years and has provided food support to people in underserved communities.
The foundation said the programme has been funded without grants or external contributions, relying on Olagbende’s personal resources.
It added that the initiative, which has previously covered communities across the South-West, would be expanded to other parts of Nigeria after his 50th birthday.
Beyond food support, Olagbende has also been involved in youth development programmes, including mentorship and free educational sessions for young people interested in leadership, entrepreneurship and personal development.
One of the initiatives is an annual youth conference held on December 1.
The 2025 edition, held at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, reportedly attracted more than 200 young people.
The 2026 edition is expected to hold at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, with a target of about 600 participants.
The theme for this year’s conference is “The Deal Makers: How to Build a Financial Fortress at an Early Age.”
The conference is expected to focus on financial responsibility, entrepreneurship, leadership and long-term wealth creation among young people.
Olagbende is also the convener of the Dare Global Conference.
The inaugural “Dare the Impossible 1.0” summit was held in December 2025 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, with young professionals and speakers from business, law, public service and leadership development in attendance.
While maintaining his philanthropic activities, Olagbende has continued to expand his business interests through King Shina Group of Companies.
His activities have extended beyond his legal profession into several sectors of the economy.
He is also expected to launch an e-commerce platform before the end of 2026 as part of efforts to expand his business operations and create opportunities beyond Nigeria.
Olagbende has largely maintained a low public profile despite his involvement in business and community initiatives.
His 50th birthday activities are therefore being marked around programmes focused on food support and youth development.
The initiatives are expected to form part of his activities as he begins a new phase of his professional, business and philanthropic journey.
