‎The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has commended the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing his leadership as instrumental in reshaping government communication and advancing Nigeria’s national reorientation agenda.

‎In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Media and Communication, Paul Odenyi, the Director-General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, conveyed warm felicitations to the minister, while highlighting his contributions to strengthening public engagement and fostering national consciousness.

‎Issa-Onilu noted that the minister’s tenure has been marked by clarity, structure, and consistency in government messaging, which he said has significantly improved public understanding of policies and programmes across the country.

‎“The minister has demonstrated remarkable leadership in communicating government policies, programmes, and activities in a manner that is both accessible and impactful,” he said.

‎He further described Idris as a focused and forward-looking leader whose commitment to public service has provided strategic direction for agencies under the ministry, enabling them to better connect with citizens and drive behavioural change.

‎According to the NOA DG, the minister’s emphasis on national values, civic responsibility, and patriotism has helped reposition public discourse, encouraging Nigerians to develop a stronger sense of belonging and shared responsibility in nation-building.

‎“His consistent advocacy for unity, discipline, and patriotism has re-energised efforts to reconnect Nigerians with the core ideals necessary for sustainable development,” Issa-Onilu stated.

‎He added that under the minister’s leadership, government communication has not only become more coordinated but also more responsive to the information needs of citizens, thereby strengthening trust in public institutions.

‎Issa-Onilu also commended Idris for his firm commitment to promoting truthful, timely, and responsible communication, noting that such an approach has played a critical role in countering misinformation and deepening public confidence in governance processes.

‎“The clarity and consistency introduced into government communication have enhanced citizens’ awareness and participation in national programmes,” he said.

‎The NOA boss further stated that the agency has continued to draw strength from the minister’s leadership, which has enhanced its operational focus and enabled it to deepen grassroots sensitisation efforts across diverse communities.

‎He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the minister’s vision through intensified advocacy campaigns aimed at promoting discipline, integrity, and active citizenship.

‎While wishing Idris continued success, Issa-Onilu prayed for long life and greater fulfilment, expressing confidence that his leadership would continue to inspire progress within the information sector and beyond.
