No More UTME for NCE Candidates – FG

The Federal Ministry of Education has confirmed that candidates seeking admission into Federal Colleges of Education will no longer be required to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, made the announcement on Monday during the 2026 Policy Meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Abuja.

According to the Minister, the exemption also applies to candidates applying for programmes in technology, agriculture, and related disciplines. However, he clarified that affected candidates must still possess the requisite O’Level qualifications and undergo JAMB screening for proper documentation.
