Mayowa Lambe celebrates husband amid Roby Ekpo infidelity claims

Nigerian media personality Mayowa Lambe appears unfazed by the controversy surrounding her recent marriage.

Last week, news of the couple’s wedding in the United States sparked a wave of reactions online.

The development came as a surprise to many, as Mayowa was previously known to be married to comedian and radio presenter Roby Ekpo.

Neither had publicly confirmed their separation before the new marriage surfaced.

Despite the criticism, Mayowa has dropped hints that she remains unbothered. In a series of posts on her Instagram stories, she reposted quotes suggesting she is at peace with her decisions and grateful to God.

One post, originally by @hantibibi, read: “I love how God doesn’t ask for permission to uplift you. He doesn’t wait for people to agree that you’re worthy. He takes the overlooked and makes them undeniable. He doesn’t need your reputation to precede you. He doesn’t need anyone to vouch for you. He just moves”.

She also shared another quote from @deyola_a, which referenced finding peace in her new home.

“There is a kind of peace that comes when your heart knows it has found its home. A home in your person. Someone who makes everything in you settle. That is what my man is to me. My home. And I mean that with everything,” it reads.

The wedding announcement also prompted a response from Ekpo. In a brief message to followers, he wrote: “My people, thank you for the calls and messages. I really appreciate y’all”.

He acknowledged that he has moved past the most difficult stage of the situation but declined to share full details about what transpired between him and Mayowa. He did, however, wish her well in her new marriage.

“Happy married life Mayowa, may this third marriage be beautiful and may it last,” Roby said.

Days later, in an interview, Roby claimed that Mayowa deceived him and secretly used contraceptives to prevent pregnancy during their marriage.

“After 11 years of marriage, I woke up to videos and pictures of my wife on Instagram getting married to another man,” he said.

Roby, who is 48, said he once underwent medical tests after concerns about infertility and initially believed he might be the reason the couple had no children.

“I don’t have a kid. I started going for tests because I thought I was the problem—I thought I had fertility issues. I later found out that she was taking contraceptives,” he said.

As of now, Mayowa has not publicly responded to Roby’s claims.
