Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has been awarded €1 in compensation after a Paris court ruled that she was the victim of an armed robbery in the French capital in 2016.

The decision was delivered by a Paris court on September 15, following the conviction of eight people who were found guilty last year for their involvement in the robbery.
Kardashian, who has previously described the incident as “the most terrifying experience of my life,” said she has been focused on moving forward since the case reached its legal conclusion.
In a joint statement with her stylist Simone Harouche, who was also present during the robbery, Kardashian expressed appreciation to the French justice system.
She wrote: “The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us. Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition,”
The statement continued: “We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal.”
According to a lawyer involved in the case, the €1 awarded to Kardashian was the exact amount she requested as compensation.
Kardashian was staying at the Hôtel de Pourtalès during Paris Fashion Week when a group of robbers targeted her and stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry.
The court also awarded compensation to other victims connected to the incident, including a former receptionist at the hotel who received €109,516 after suffering trauma from the robbery.
The receptionist had requested €550,000 in damages and interest, while his lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, welcomed the court’s decision.
The Hôtel de Pourtalès was awarded €50,000, while Simone Harouche, Kardashian’s stylist who was also affected by the incident, received €1 — the amount she requested.
Following the convictions, Kardashian previously said she was grateful to French authorities for pursuing justice in the case.
She said: “The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family.”
She added: “While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system.”
