Popular Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs, has died.

The death of the veteran actor was announced by his wife, actress Joke Silva, who shared an emotional statement mourning her husband and celebrating his life.
In the statement, Joke Silva described him as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, while asking bloggers and social media influencers to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult period.
She wrote: “It is with gratitude to God for a life well lived and fought, that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle. The Lion of Lufodo. Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs (MFR) 11/07/ 1942- 16/09/2026 We call on all bloggers and social media influencers to respect our families privacy at this time.”
Olu Jacobs, whose real name is Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs, was one of Nigeria’s most respected actors, known for his remarkable contributions to Nollywood and his decades-long career in the entertainment industry.
The actor, popularly called “The Lion of Lufodo,” became a household name through his roles in numerous Nigerian films and was celebrated for his powerful acting skills and ability to bring characters to life.
