Kelly Osbourne Is Embracing ‘Lifetime Of Work’ Approach To Dealing With Her Grief

Kelly Osbourne continues to count the cost of shockingly losing her father, Ozzy Osbourne.

The reality TV star was badly bruised by the sudden reality of doing life without the doting love of her father, and is not afraid to admit she will never be the same person she was before he passed.

Kelly Osbourne has carried a part of her father with her in multiple ways since he died, through touching tributes, vulnerable interviews about her mental headspace, and even a permanent art figure of the rock icon on her body.

The media personality explained in an interview published on Monday, August 31, that a part of her died with her father the moment he drew his last breath. Kelly admitted that everything is different about her, and so many things in her life have changed right that instant, but she is back to picking up the pieces one day at a time.

These days, the singer is focused on a measured approach to getting over her grief by putting one leg in front of the other. Kelly noted that to fix the body, the head must have gone through some alignment, in a slow but sure manner. In her words:

“I’m not going to be fixed in a day. I’m not going to be fixed in one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I’ve got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.”

Kelly added that it felt great to discover many things about herself in therapy and finally understood some confusing parts in her childhood. Speaking to Hello Magazine, Kelly explained that she has been enjoying the process of getting to know herself in a new way, and life has never felt healthier.

Kelly also broke her silence on the intense toxic media attention that surrounded her appearance in the months after her father’s death. When asked how she dealt with the pressure of it all, the media personality confessed that she did not actually navigate it, as she was not feeling her best most of the time.

However, the reality star noted that her health has since improved and that she has been getting a lot of help alongside the support needed to move forward in her grief. Kelly praised her support system for sticking through such a dark period in her life, and helping her find her way through her sadness.

Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on July 25, 2025, a few days after he performed at his last-ever concert alongside members of his former band, Black Sabbath. The singer reportedly died from cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease.

Nearly a year after losing her father, Kelly appeared alongside her mother Sharon at the 2026 Brit Awards, where Ozzy was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. As noted by The Blast, Sharon accepted the award and noted that she wished Ozzy was alive to pick up the plaque himself.

Nevertheless, she expressed her delight to know that the rock singer remains appreciated even after his exit from this world. Kelly, who stood by her mother while she delivered the striking acceptance speech, opted to stay somber as she later thanked everyone for showing her father so much love during his lifetime.

Fans quickly picked up a significant shift in her personality, noting that a once bubbly and loud Kelly had suddenly become reserved and shy since losing her father. The observers continued that Sharon even appeared to have gathered herself and found a way to move on, unlike Kelly, who is still carrying all the emotional weight.

As she continues to deal with her loss, Kelly took some time to share an unexpected source of joy with the world, stating that spending time with birds through falconry has provided a very positive emotional lift.

Kelly flaunted her best pose with an owl perched comfortably on it as she admitted that never in her wildest dreams would she imagine falconry becoming something capable of bringing happiness back into her life.

The media personality did not mince words in making it clear that being around the birds has quickly become something she deeply enjoys. Kelly’s update comes weeks after she candidly spoke about how difficult it has been adjusting to life without her father, claiming that the mourning has been unpredictable.

She likened the feeling to a sharp, piercing pain that returns unexpectedly as she acknowledged that healing will take time and she does not see herself becoming the old Kelly soon.

Kelly expressed her gratitude to the fans for their outpouring of love and kindness throughout one of the most devastating periods of her life. “I’m holding on tight to the love, light, and the legacy left behind,” the media personality shared at the time.

The actress found a deeply personal way to keep her father close as she turned one of the rock singer’s personal accessories into a permanent piece of tribute. While at it, Kelly also broke a record by becoming one of the first people to receive a tattoo inside a special studio installed aboard the London Eye.

The unusual session took place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with Kelly getting inked while overlooking the London skyline. Clips from the experience showed Kelly closely observing as Tattoo artist Miles Langford tattooed a small illustration of Ozzy’s famous circular glasses onto her leg.

The eyewear was a very recognizable accessory of the Black Sabbath frontman and his larger-than-life personality. By choosing the instantly recognizable glasses rather than a portrait or his name, Kelly opted for a subtle symbol closely associated with her father throughout his decades in the spotlight.

It is not the first time she has used Ozzy’s signature style to honor him, as she paid tribute to the legend by wearing purple-tinted round sunglasses reminiscent of the ones her father wore during his funeral procession in Birmingham.

Earlier in April, Kelly shared glimpses of a family trip to a London art exhibition, which she attended alongside her older sibling and her young niece and nephew. Despite enjoying the outing with loved ones, her social media updates reflected how her father’s absence continues to follow her into otherwise happy moments.

Wishing Kelly Osbourne all the strength needed to return to her old, cheerful self fully!
