JUST IN: MFM Orders Suspension of Vigils Nationwide Over Security Concerns

The leadership of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has directed all its branches and ministries across Nigeria to suspend vigils and ensure that church activities end by 8:00 p.m. until further notice due to the prevailing security situation in the country.

The directive was conveyed in an internal circular dated June 5, 2026, signed by the Director of Administration (International Headquarters and Nigeria), Temitope A. Olawale.

According to the circular, the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard members, workers and worshippers amid growing security concerns nationwide.

The church instructed all Principal Regional Overseers, Senior Regional Overseers, Mega Regional Overseers, Zonal Pastors, Branch Pastors and other leaders to ensure full compliance with the directive.

Under the new arrangement, all services, meetings, programmes and ministry activities at every level must be concluded on or before 8:00 p.m.

The church also announced the suspension of vigils, overnight prayer meetings and related programmes across all branches nationwide until further notice.

However, the ministry noted that where necessary, such vigils may be converted into evening prayer sessions, provided they end no later than 8:00 p.m.

MFM stressed that the measure was introduced solely for security reasons and was not intended to hinder worship activities but to protect the lives and wellbeing of members in view of the current security challenges.

The circular further directed Mega Regional Overseers to ensure the information is promptly communicated to all regions, zones, branches and departments under their supervision for immediate implementation.

The directive takes effect immediately and will remain in force pending further review by the church leadership.
