The Qur’an teaches that men are superior to women and should beat those from whom they “fear disobedience”: “Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” — Qur’an 4:34
Muhammad’s child bride, Aisha, says in a hadith that Muhammad “struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: ‘Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?’” — Sahih Muslim 2127
An another hadith states: “Rifa`a divorced his wife whereupon `AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. `Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah’s Messenger came, Aisha said, ‘I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes!’” — Sahih Bukhari 7.77.5825

Palestinian Islamic scholar Sheikh Yousef Makharzah, who is affiliated with Hizb ut-Tahrir, said in a sermon that was aired on Al-Waqiyah TV (Hizb ut-Tahrir) on September 28, 2022, that wives who rebel against their husbands should be “disciplined” by being beaten in a “deterring” fashion.…
Sheikh Yousef Makharzah: “In Islam, if a woman rebels against her husband, she should be disciplined and should be subject to a beating that is not hard… One is not supposed to grab a piece of pipe or a heavy rod and send his wife to the hospital. The wife should be beaten in a way that will serve as deterrence for her.

“A man comes home at night and sees that his wife is out, even though she had not told him anything or asked for his permission. He does not know where she went. What should he say to her? He says: ‘My dear, why do you go out every night without letting me know? It is haram.’ He says to her: ‘You shouldn’t go out, I’m upset with you.’ But she says to him: ‘Don’t be upset. Go to hell.’ Such a woman should be lectured to by her husband. He should make her understand, and if she does not learn the lesson, he should sleep separately from her, and if she still does not learn the lesson, he should beat her.
“Today, however, we borrow our culture from those liars. Who are the liars? The West. In the West, they claim to champion women’s rights and human rights. They are liars and charlatans. Those Westerners went to America, where there were millions of people, and they annihilated them. They destroyed and killed them.
“In America, there was an entire nation called the Indians. There were millions of them. Those who were not killed with bullets were given virus-ridden blankets until the diseases killed them. They completely annihilated them, yet they talk to you about human rights. Human beings who uphold some principle may be killed, but when, for example, a woman in Iran decides to take off her clothes and go naked, America punishes Iran for killing this woman.

“I saw on TV a woman saying: ‘I beat my husband every day.’ When the TV host asked her why, she said: ‘I enjoy beating my husband.’ If you do not beat your wife, she might end up beating you.”
